Overdentures

These dentures are held in place by attachments to adjacent teeth or implants. Often, we stabilise a lower denture using two implants towards the front of the lower jaw.

These carry clips to hold the denture firmly in place. Using two implants in this way reduces the cost and overcomes many of the movement problems associated with lower full dentures.

A similar approach can be taken with partial dentures. Full upper dentures commonly require more implants to hold them in place. Such a technique allows the palate to be uncovered and the patient can taste again.
